Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute Co.,Ltd.(SIDRI), affiliated to China Three Gorges Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CTGC) and founded in November 1954,is an A-grade institute with productive technical force, advanced technical equipment and reliable quality products completed.

 It is entitled a variety of A-grade licenses covering the design of water resources and hydropower projects, renewable energy development, architecture and environment works, the supervision for construction, the engineering consultation, the compilation of solutions of water and soil conservancy works for project to be developed and constructed, the monitoring for water and soil reservoir works, the environmental impact assessment for project to be constructed, the verification of water resources, the survey and evaluation of hydrological condition and water resources, the engineering geological survey etc. It also has the qualification certificate of international economic cooperation and cooperative business operation which is issued by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. In 1988, SIDRI was certified by authorized organization of GB/T19001-ISO9001.

Up to now SIDRI has undertaken the investigation and design of about forty large- and medium-sized hydropower stations including Xin’anjiang, Fuchunjiang and Wuxijiang hydropower stations in Zhejiang Province, Fozilin Hydropower Station in Anhui Province, Mianhuatan Hydropower Station in Fujian Province, Shahe and Yixing pumped storage power projects in Jiangsu Province etc. It was engaged in the construction supervision or consultation for some hydropower projects including Tianhuangping Pumped Storage Power Project and Expansion Works of Fuchunjiang Hydropower Station in Zhejiang Province etc. 

 In wind power development field, it has conducted the feasibility study and design of construction drawings for wind farms locating in Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu, Shandong, Jilin, Inner Mongolia provinces and viewed as a leading design institute throughout China. With regard to the design of urban scenery and ecological water conservancy works, its innovative view and philosophy earned high praise from high-ranking provincial and ministerial officials.

SIDRI has been awarded more than 70 prizes of scientific and technological progress and of excellent design at provincial and ministerial levels since 1983 when it was resumed. From 1999, it was named Model Unit by Shanghai People’s Government and awarded Model Unit by national professional sectors and has held its glory for consecutive four sessions.
